Today i got on with my evaluation. The rest of my team came back from filming in darby so i then went to the edit suits and supported thier editing and made some suggestions.

24/05/10

This morning we got together as a group and discussed what we had left to do. I then got on in the afternoon with my genre essay and looked at the questions i have to answer for my documenrty evaluation. We then had sharons lesson, we got on with the last part of our freelance research.

Thursday 20th may

Today i captured my interview i filmed yesterday. It looked really good and my group all really liked it. We then carried on editing our documentry. Then we had film studies we got our autuer back and got told we had to higher our grades. We then got on with our genre eassys.

wednesday 19th may

Today i had the interview with the lady, it went really well. She was very helpful and easy to work with. I asked her all the questions i needed and she gave very intersting answering that we can use for our documentry.

Tuesday 18th may

Today we just edited all day with me chris and josh as non of our group were in. I got a camera out for the next day as i had an interview with a young offeneders mom. I wrote out questions i was going to ask the lady.

monday 17th may

We got to get on with our documentry editing, chris and josh had added in our voxpops and captured my cut aways but john said we wernt allowed as it breached health and saftey. Later in the day we had sharons lesson we got on with our freelance folder.

Wednesday 12th may

Today i went into birmingham town and got cut aways for our documentry.

Tuesday 11th may

Today again i went on soundtrack pro in te morning and got to no it abit more, in the afternoon me, lisa and chris went to stratford town and gathered the publics view on young offenders it went really well and got alot of diffrent opions. We did have a bit of trouble as some peopel didnt want to be on camera but luckily we had enoungh willing people.

Monday 10th may

This morning we got on with our editing, i went on soundtrack pro and had a fidle with the sound. I watched a documentry on woodward scrubs which is about prison life. I was listening out for what music they use at the start, during and end. I really liked how they formatted the start of thier documentry so made some notes on how we could start ours. later on in the day we had sharon and started our freelance folder.

6th may

Today some of my group went to film in darby, the company was called upskill. The filiming went really well apparently, which was a relief. We will have to go back up thier for cut aways which means me, lisa and chris will go as we didnt that time as upskill didnt want alot of people their. I had normal lessons tim in teh morning then john for last lesson. Me and lisa in johns lesson wrote down all teh pre production yet to do.

5th may

Today we meet Ann Mulliner, the interview went really well we got alot more information than expected. She said shes happy to come in again at anytime for another one if needed which was great. In the afternoon we had film studies.

4th may

Today was the day of our re-pitch, we tryed to improve our grades. We pitched, our improvments were enough unfortunatly so we got on with our documentry. We arranged what was happening friday as we had our interview with upskill. I then got on with a bit on genre research.

Watched a documentry called touching the void which was really intresting it didnt have a presenter, which i liked and thought it really worked. In the afternoon we carried on improving our powerpoint, i then had a lesson with john and carried this on with my group.

29/04/10

This morning we went through our pitches, john went through the distinction critera and how we can achive this. I jotted it down and printed it off for my group to work from. In the afternoon we had genre, we went to the libary and got out books make our bibliography up. I choose horror as my genre, my films are frankienstien 1931 and Saw 2004.

27/04/10

Today is our pitch, we all came in dressed formally for it, gathered all our research relervant for our pitch and made last minute changes to the presentation. We then Practiced our pitch over and over again untill we were all comfortable we knew each others slides.
It was then our turn, i thought it went well, we answered questions with fair points

We all had finished of our reseach and put it all togther finally on the powerpoint, we decided who was saying what slide, the edited it to eachothers preferances. When we had sorted out what slides we were each presenting we got on with writing our scripts. When we had completed our scripts we practiced our pitch for the rest of the day.

We put all our information togther on the powerpoint, thier was still alot we had to researcha nd carried on that individually through out the day. We meet up before lunch and put it togther and discussed what else we needed. Next lesson we practiced out pitches, and carried on colecting reseach.

22/04/10

This morning we started to discuss again our idea and what we need to each research to make it easy to put into our presention, i had to research ofcom. I started to research ofcom rules and regulations, I printed of all the ofcom regulations and highlighted the main points that are relevant to our documentary. Adam started the powerpoint, and added in anyinformation anyone had done. Later in the afternoon we had film studies.

20/04/10

Today we spoke to Phil and he told us about the River house project, so we started to speak to people who have more details about it including John Simpson who is part of SBS and he gave us information about the River House Project, Onley Prison is Rugby and a probation officer who could help us with the law side of the project. We all looked at each other’s research and discussed what we had found. We need to start getting in touch with young offenders institutes and young offenders charities, me and Adam researched these last night so we cut the list down to the closest institutes and charities and will ring them today. We then had a chat with Tim lozimki and he gave us someone to get in touch with that deals with children that have got chucked out of a lot of schools, children that are on the verge of offending. Lisa and Chris then went to see Trisha Perry to ask about this riverside place where the children are kept.
